I picked this for my Easter read without having read any of the other stories. I got a bit confused about some of the characters in the story, but was able to follow the story very easily. Chloe Boston is a very capable policewoman working in a small town. The story is easy to follow, but there are too few clues to let you really work on who the murderer could be. And what was that about Officer Bill in the elementary school. All of the problems with wearing a paper mache head could have been replaced with the story line.The characters were well written. I liked the good guys and disliked the villains. And it was fun to read about the pets interacting in her life. I will be reading more of these stories.Product details

I was looking for books to give my sisters for Easter, and this fit the bill, it was a great deal.
very easy read
Ok read but will not tickle your problem solving bone.
How does Melanie Jackson keep coming up with new and different ways to keep Chloe Boston in the middle of some who-done-it and yet never repeat herself? Wish I could write like Ms. Jackson! This book was a lot of fun, and makes me look forward to all the Chloe books yet to come!
Another fun Chloe Boston cozy. If you've read the previous books you know this book will be a fun read. If not, grab it and enjoy.
I love well written intelligent female detectives. Boston meets those qualifications and her sense of dry humor makes the series enchantingly humorous. I'm so grateful for writers like Melanie Jackson who bring us pleasure through a quirky and amusing series. Her originality adds to the overall charm of the books with Blue the dog, the famous tricycle, the fear of haunted houses I can only hope for more of these books starring one of my favorite heroines, Chloe Boston.
It's Easter in Hope Falls and that can mean only one thing--murder. Of course, Chloe and Blue, along with help from new hubby Alex, are on the case! Just who killed the Easter Bunny? Or is it the Easter Bunny? Could it be an imposter Easter Bunny? You'll have to grab this book to find out, and you won't be disappointed.
I love this series for so many reasons. I love the characters--who knew a meter maid could lead such an interesting life! I love Blue and the cats and the way they're woven into Chloe's life. I love that Chloe is so humble and sweet, yet she's no pushover and she's smart. The parents and in-laws are also very entertaining, not to mention Cousin Althea and her poetry.
The humor and wit in the books just tickles me, and this series is just brimming with warmth and goodwill. I also like the length, not too long, not too short, and the pacing of the stories in these books. I feel I know these people well, so I can genuinely say the character development is top-notch. I also really love that the books tend to focus on or around holidays. Death of a Dumb Bunny is just another wonderful addition to this series for me.
If you're looking for a cozy mystery series that will entertain you, warm your heart and make you laugh, then the Chloe Boston series is perfect. Be sure to start at the beginning, though, so you get the best advantage of character development and growth. Also, if it's a holiday time of year and you're feeling a little stressed or down, Chloe is sure to lift your spirits. I am already looking forward to the next book!
